episode
of “Gardening by the Yard”, host Paul James features two of
his favorite tools, Silky’s Pocketboy and Silky’s Gomboy,
which are Japanese folding saws. He says they come in handy
for pruning chores that ordinary hand-held pruners cannot
handle. Smaller versions cut branches up to four inches and
those with longer blades can cut branches twice as large.
Paul prefers those that cut on the pull stroke rather than
the push stroke, like the Japanese made Silky brand, because
they make cutting much easier. Paul also recommends saws
that have a locking blade because it is an important safety
feature that prevents the blade from collapsing accidentally
and putting the user at risk.
