CAMAKIRI 180 Single Edge |
| A mini
sickle with a replaceable blade. A Camakiri 180 is a
light-duty clearing tool. It comes in two models: the
Single-edge blade and the Double-edge blade. Probably the
best way to liken the Camakiri would be to compare it to a
high tech sickle. The two blade patterns are a single-edge
with a chisel grind and a double-edge with a symmetrical
grind. Both of them measure 7 inches. The blades are
chrome-plated carbon steel that have been sharpened to a
razor’s edge. The blades are also multi-positional. Each
model can either set the blade in any of three positions -
95° sickle-style set up, 140° and inline with the handle -
so it works either like a sickle or a machete. Die-cast
aluminum makes up the handle of the Camakiri and the grip is
a non-slip rubber. The Camakiri is an excellent cutting tool
and shears through light vines, weeds and tall grass. Hard
plastic blade cover locks in place and has an integral belt
clip. Again, it is a light-duty cutting tool and should be
used on small vines, weeds and grasses. For times when large
choppers are too much or the need to clear light material
calls for a fast-action cutter, the Camakiri is excellent. |
